The fishing remains good on Almanor. The problem is, it's hard to get to them under the ice. Even as the daytime temperatures are reaching into the mid 40's, overnight lows remain in the mid 20's Our lake is sitting just above freezing and the days and nights are calm. All of this is making a beautiful ice sheet out of our fishing lake. When the conditions are just right, the ice breaks up enough that locals hit the shoreline and are being rewarded with some nice rainbows and few browns. Although our conditions have been dry and the public boat ramp is open, boating is something that is a game time decision and best chosen if you can take a look at the water before deciding.
