There hasn't been much fishing this last week.  For those who are concerned, this is an update on the situation from Lake Almanor. The smoke is still pretty bad. The fire seems to be stable for the time being and there has been no further escalation of the evacuation warnings in our area.  Travel up into the basin is negatively impacted due to evacuations and road closures. If conditions continue to improve, we plan to restart charter operations Saturday the 31st for those who are interested and not impacted by the closures. We also, of course, are happily honoring all cancellations. Here's to hoping for the safety of all those impacted by this fire and looking forward to clearing skies in our future.

Thank you to all of the firefighters and companies such as Collins Pine, Digit Construction and the many others who are applying their resources and heavy equipment to containment of this fire south of our beautiful lake.  My condolences go out to everyone who has lost a structure or property during this event.  My thoughts are with you as you recover.  Thank you to the local businesses such as Koninkrijk Koffiehuis, Sierra's Fly and Tackle, Bailey Creek Golf Course, Holiday Market, our gas stations, Ayoobs and Ace Hardware, our wonderful Mexican restaurant Mi Casita and even our Dollar General.  Thank you to all our hard working small business owners who stayed the course and stayed open so that we had a place to go to not only meet with others, but grab supplies.  My hat off to the many employees who stayed to support local shop owners and support the local community.  I cannot say enough about you all!
