Merry Christmas from Lake Almanor.
We still have about 12" of snow on the ground. The single digit mornings have given way to low to mid 30's. It's been nice. The icicles have melted away from their previous glory of growing right down to the ground in some cases. Holy heck, look out!!! Word is we have a solid week of scattered rain and snow showers coming. It's going to help the lake, we're looking forward to it. It's going to make the mountains around the lake simply spectacular!
Fishing pressure is light, the roads are clear. If you're in the area, it's worth a day on the water if the winds aren't going to blow. We're catching a mixed bag of big Browns and Rainbows. Winter is a special time because we don't have to get up at 4am to get on the water. 8 am starts are a special treat on a sunny winter day.
